That I was able to deal with the multifarious problems connected with the evacuees in addition to the ordinary work of this consulate-general was due to the willing service I received from my staff, who worked with utmost devotion for I have long hours, frequently from dawn until late at night. much pleasure in commending to your Lordship Mr. P.8. Stephens (acting consul), Mr. R.A. Finlay (vice-consul) and Mrs. A. Prismall (secretary).
